Information Technology Division
The Information Technology Division oversees and supports one of the largest computer networks in New Mexico State Government. As a lifeline, the ITD provides critical real-time information to criminal justice agencies throughout New Mexico via a complex network of computers, communication devices, and specialized software.

The DPS ITD serves all Local Law Enforcement and Criminal Justice Agency
Programs within the State of New Mexico including: 605 State Police,
147 Motor Transportation Division officers, 41 Special Investigations
Division officers; technical assistance to 1,300 DPS employees; 180 law
enforcement agencies and more than 2,700 law enforcement users throughout
the state.
In support of the many law enforcement personnel within the State of
New Mexico, DPS ITD is committed to the bold New Mexico vision of dramatically
improving the quality of law enforcement and criminal justice services.
The DPS approach to integrated justice promotes data sharing, enhanced
case management, increased worker efficiency, and improved safety of
New Mexico citizens, saving lives, dollars and time. Integrated services
improve the quality of information by eliminating redundant data input
that often results in error. The focus on improving criminal justice
information availability and sharing is a priority.
The DPS-ITD staff
provides access to an impressive network and its databases throughout
New Mexico, as well as links to national database systems. The information
provided by these databases are a chief component of the fight against
crime in New Mexico. The DPS computer resources are vital for both internal
operations and service delivery and are utilized by criminal justice
agencies, state agencies, DPS personnel and the public. These systems
